Lismore and Dalriada Win U16 Schools Cups

Lismore Comprehensive and Dalriada win the NI Volleyball U16 Boys and Girls Schools cups on Thursday 3rd March.

Lismore defeated tournament favourites Craigavon Senior High 26-24 in a nail biting final of the Boys U16 Schools Cup. It was the first time ever that Lismore had won the U16 Boys Schools Cup. Lismore were the underdogs and the crowd favourites as Craigavon had two NI Junior National team players in the squad. Craigavon reached the final by defeating Dalriada in the semi final. Lismore defeated Portadown in the Boys Cup semi final.

Drumglass High School defeated Holywood Rudolf Steiner School in the Boys Plate final.

In the U16 Girls Cup Dalriada defeated Craigavon Senior High 21-14 in the final to make it six U16 Girls Cup wins in a row for the Ballymoney school. Craigavon defeated Lismore and Dalriada defeated Drumglass High School in the semi finals.

Portadown College defeated Dominican College Fortwilliam in the final of the Girls Plate.
