Ballmoney Overcome Coleraine in Local Rivalry

Coleraine University and Ballymoney Blaze met tonight in Dalriada to see who would win bragging rights in the first division of the league.

Both teams were made up of very good young players, Ballymoney’s youngest player being only 15. However, what these teams lacked in age was made up for in enthusiasm. Many spectators gathered to see the rival teams play and vuvuzelas and horns added to the competitive atmosphere. The first set was hard fought, but eventually Blaze managed to pull ahead and secure a 25-23 win. Blaze’s youthful energy and determination were tried, but they increased their lead in the next two sets winning the 25-19 and 25-15.

Many thanks to Callum Currie and Hannah Hamilton for refing and Matthew Scott and Mathew Clyde for doing the score sheet.
