Ulster Coleraine Promoted to Womens National League

University of Ulster Coleraine Women’s Volleyball team secured promotion to the Women’s National League by winning the Women’s First Division.

Ulster Coleraine narrowly edged out Ballymoney Blaze for the top spot in the Women’s First Division on point ratio as both teams had tied on points and set difference and set ratio. The title for Ulster Coleraine came even though Ballymoney Blaze had defeated them earlier in the season.

2010-11 was the first year in several that Ulster Coleraine have competed in the league. NI Volleyball’s Development Officer Nick Wright said “It is great to see more volleyball being played across the province and for new teams to do so well”.

Ulster Coleraine’s Head Coach, Alan McKnight, said “This is a great achievement for us in our first year and hopefully we can build on this and challenge in the National League next year”.
