Ian Walker is Ballymoney Borough Councils Coach of the Year for the Second time

The Ballymoney Borough Council Sports Coach of the Year award is presented to an individual who has helped others achieve sporting success or contributes highly to developing their sport in the Ballymoney Borough. Nominees this year represented the sports of Football, Swimming, Archery, Rugby, Gymnastics, Volleyball and Table Tennis. Dr Ian Walker, winner of this years award has achieved success in coaching volleyball at schools and international level. He coached Dalriada Under 18 and Under 16 girls to successive Northern Ireland League and Cup titles and this year both teams also won All-Ireland titles. Ian has also developed a strong Northern Ireland Squad which competed well at several UK tournaments.

Last Year he picked up the Northern Ireland coach of the Year award in the young athlete development category and this is also his second time winning the Ballymoney Borough Coach of the Year in four years. The sport of Volleyball now boasts one of the largest memberships in the Borough.
