Queens Ladies With an Excellent Start in the National League

Queens ladies met the North Down team! After a long break, a few transformations in the team and busy celebrations at weekend the Queens girls were feeling a bit anxious and rusty!

The first set started very slow and edgy, as usual! New players Manuela Baldan and libero Juliette Bonet played with the team for the first time and it took time for them to get to know the tactics. Thanks to experienced play from KayGemmert and Claire Dowey Queens finished the set at 25-17.

The second set started also very shifty for Queens and led to 12-12. Then after a time-out and a few changes in tactics experienced players like Joanna Wiezowska and Catherine Toye built up a good advantage. The setter and captain Jenna Coriddi had a great impact on the team with her very passionate play! Sub Tina Debeljak had few very good hits and so closed the set at 25-16.

The third set was very strong for Queens with passionate and smart play from opposite CazToye, setter Jenna Coriddi and sub Sarah Landstreet! The libero Juliette Bonet demonstratde excellent skills. The set was going well for Queens and the team was ahead with scores. Strong serving from Joanna Wiezowska and Irena Mihneva completed the set at 25-14.

Queens ladies would like to thank to the North Down team for their play and great atmosphere they bring into the PEC and to say it is always a pleasure to host them!

Gratitude also to referees Vincent Ramirez and PatrykGos and scorers Joanne Wilson and Lukasz Borowiecki!

Queens ladies next match is on 13th of March in Lisnaskea versus the Spikers team!
